A Royal Air Maroc (RAM) flight connecting Montreal to Agadir repatriated on Saturday 290 Moroccans stranded in Canada because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The repatriation operation, organized by the Embassy and Consulate General of Morocco in Canada in collaboration with the Canadian authorities, was carried out in full compliance with the precautionary measures and the health protocol in force.

The RAM flight from Casablanca landed Saturday morning at Montreal's international airport, carrying Canadian passengers or permanent residents of Canada who were stranded in the Kingdom.

It then left with 290 vulnerable Moroccan passengers on board who have a Canadian temporary visitor visa and are prioritized. Among these are the elderly, people with chronic illnesses or who have undergone surgical operations, pregnant women or women accompanied with young children, or minors.

All passengers will have to land in Agadir where they will undergo compulsory quarantine for 9 days established by the Moroccan health authorities as a measure to fight the pandemic.
