Morocco : 609 new coronavirus cases, mainly in Marrakech, Fez and Casablanca

609 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 20,887.

115 new recoveries were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in the kingdom to 16,553.

Three (3) deaths were recorded between yesterday and today. The total number of deaths related to Covid-19 reached 316.

Morocco now has 4,018 active cases under treatment, most of them are in the region of Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma (1,383), Casablanca-Settat (1140), Fès-Meknes (749) and Marrakech-Safi (379).

72 of the active cases are in serious or critical condition because of age or chronic diseases or both factors at the same time. These cases are located in Casablanca-Settat (21), Marrakech-Safi (21), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma (17), Fez-Meknes (11) and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (2).

Most of the new cases were recorded in the Casablanca-Settat region, with 211 infections. In Marrakech-Safi, 131 cases were recorded, 114 in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region and 98 in Fez-Meknes. Rabat-Sale-Kenitra recorded 24 new cases

Béni Mellal-Khenifra recorded 9 cases. Souss-Massa region has 8 cases. Dakhla-Oued Dahab recorded 7 cases. The Oriental region confirmed 5 new cases. Daara-Tafilalet recorded 2 new cases
