The Casa-Anfa racecourse hosted the closing day of the African Grand Prix, featuring eight races, including the Grand Prix d’Afrique, won by Zouhair Madihi. The first two days of the event were devoted to exhibitions for professionals and seminars on the development of African lotteries.
The 4th edition of the Grand Prix d’Afrique opened Thursday at Bouskoura’s Cité du Cheval, after three editions in Marrakech. Organized by SOREC and ALA, the three-day event features exhibitions, seminars on African lotteries, and a final race day at the Casa-Anfa Racecourse.
Morocco is now home to 7,500 millionaires, making it one of Africa’s top five wealth markets and one of the continent’s fastest-growing hubs with a 40% rise over the past decade, according to the Africa Wealth Report 2025. Marrakech has emerged as a rising hotspot with a 67% increase in high-net-worth residents.
While hunger is decreasing in most regions of the world, it is worsening on the African continent. In 2024, over 307 million Africans are living without enough to eat. Morocco is now proposing the creation of an international fund dedicated to the continent's food security, aiming to break away from a model of assistance.
