Morocco scored 38 points on Transparency International's 2023 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), ranking 97th out of 180 countries and territories worldwide. This score remains unchanged from 2022, signifying no progress in curbing corruption.
The Human Development Index issued by the United Nations Development Program yesterday ranked Morocco in the category of «medium human development» countries, after it ranked 121st out of 189 countries globally.
Although it improved its scores compared to four years ago, Morocco is at the bottom of the ranking of the TIMSS, which, since 1995, assesses the knowledge levels of pupils and students.
The 2020 Global Hunger Index ranks Morocco 44th out of 107 countries. The country was 42nd in the index’s 2019 edition.
Although it lost four spots compared with the previous ranking, Rabat remains the 4th smart city in the MENA region and second in Africa, according to the Smart city Index established by the International Institute for management development (IMD).
