Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat is ignoring Morocco’s warnings. After a working visit to Algeria, he announced his intention to present a proposal for the settlement of the Western Sahara conflict.
After ratifying the protocol marking the creation of the African Union Peace and Security Council in a recently published Dahir, Morocco is free to apply for the leadership of the African body replacing Algeria. Meanwhile, the neighboring country is looking forward to getting a seat at the UN Security Council.
