20.86.فَرَجَعَ مُوسَى إِلَى قَوْمِهِ غَضْبَانَ أَسِفاً قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ أَلَمْ يَعِدْكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ وَعْداً حَسَناً أَفَطَالَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْعَهْدُ أَمْ أَرَدتُّمْ أَن يَحِلَّ عَلَيْكُمْ غَضَبٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَأَخْلَفْتُم مَّوْعِدِي

20.86. Courroucé et plein d'amertume, Moïse revint vers son peuple : «Ô mon peuple, s'écria-t-il, votre Seigneur ne vous a-t-Il pas fait une belle promesse? Avez-vous trouvé cette promesse trop longue à se réaliser? Ou avez-vous voulu que la colère de Dieu s'abatte sur vous, pour avoir trahi votre engagement envers moi?»

20.86 . Then Moses went back unto his folk , angry and sad He said : O my people! Hath not your Lord promised you a fair promise? Did the time appointed then appear too long for you , or did ye wish that wrath from your Lord should come upon you , that ye broke tryst with me?

20.86. FarajaAAa moosa ila qawmihi ghadbana asifan qala ya qawmi alam yaAAidkum rabbukum waAAdan hasanan afatala AAalaykumu alAAahdu am aradtum an yahilla AAalaykum ghadabun min rabbikum faakhlaftum mawAAidee

20.87.قَالُوا مَا أَخْلَفْنَا مَوْعِدَكَ بِمَلْكِنَا وَلَكِنَّا حُمِّلْنَا أَوْزَاراً مِّن زِينَةِ الْقَوْمِ فَقَذَفْنَاهَا فَكَذَلِكَ أَلْقَى السَّامِرِيُّ

20.87. – «Nous n'avons pas manqué à notre engagement envers toi, répondirent-ils, de notre propre gré. Mais on nous a fait porter des charges de bijoux appartenant au peuple de Pharaon. Nous les avons jetées au feu , le Samaritain en a fait de même,

20.87 . They said : We broke not tryst with thee of our own will , but we were laden with burdens of ornaments of the folk , then cast them ( in the fire ) , for thus As-Samiri proposed

20.87. Qaloo ma akhlafna mawAAidaka bimalkina walakinna hummilna awzaran min zeenati alqawmi faqathafnaha fakathalika alqa alssamiriyyu

20.88.فَأَخْرَجَ لَهُمْ عِجْلاً جَسَداً لَهُ خُوَارٌ فَقَالُوا هَذَا إِلَهُكُمْ وَإِلَهُ مُوسَى فَنَسِيَ

20.88. et il leur a fait sortir des flammes un veau sous forme d'un corps mugissant. Et aussitôt l'assistance s'est mis à crier : “Voilà votre dieu et celui de Moïse qui l'a tout simplement oublié !”«

20.88 . Then he produced for them a calf , of saffron hue , which gave forth a lowing sound . And they cried : This is your God and the God of Moses , but he hath forgotten .

20.88. Faakhraja lahum AAijlan jasadan lahu khuwarun faqaloo hatha ilahukum wa-ilahu moosa fanasiya

20.89.أَفَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَلَّا يَرْجِعُ إِلَيْهِمْ قَوْلاً وَلَا يَمْلِكُ لَهُمْ ضَرّاً وَلَا نَفْعاً

20.89. Quoi ! Ne voyaient-ils pas que ce veau était incapable de leur répondre et qu'il ne pouvait ni leur nuire ni leur être utile?

20.89 . See they not , then , that it returneth no saying unto them and possesseth for them neither hurt nor use?

20.89. Afala yarawna alla yarjiAAu ilayhim qawlan wala yamliku lahum darran wala nafAAan

20.90.وَلَقَدْ قَالَ لَهُمْ هَارُونُ مِن قَبْلُ يَا قَوْمِ إِنَّمَا فُتِنتُم بِهِ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ الرَّحْمَنُ فَاتَّبِعُونِي وَأَطِيعُوا أَمْرِي

20.90. Pourtant, Aaron leur avait bien dit auparavant : «Ô mon peuple ! Ce veau n'est qu'une tentation pour vous, car votre vrai Seigneur est le Miséricordieux. Suivez-moi et obéissez à mes ordres !»

20.90 . And Aaron indeed had told them beforehand : O my people! Ye are but being seduced therewith , for lo! your Lord is the Beneficent , so follow me and obey my order .

20.90. Walaqad qala lahum haroonu min qablu ya qawmi innama futintum bihi wa-inna rabbakumu alrrahmanu faittabiAAoonee waateeAAoo amree
