28.56.إِنَّكَ لَا تَهْدِي مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ

28.56. Prophète ! Tu ne peux remettre dans le droit chemin un être que tu aimes. Mais seul Dieu dirige qui Il veut, car Il est le mieux à même de connaître ceux qui sont les bien-guidés.

28.56 . Lo! thou ( O Muhammad ) guidest not whom thou lovest , but Allah guideth whom He will . And He is best aware of those who walk aright .

28.56. Innaka la tahdee man ahbabta walakinna Allaha yahdee man yashao wahuwa aAAlamu bialmuhtadeena

28.57.وَقَالُوا إِن نَّتَّبِعِ الْهُدَى مَعَكَ نُتَخَطَّفْ مِنْ أَرْضِنَا أَوَلَمْ نُمَكِّن لَّهُمْ حَرَماً آمِناً يُجْبَى إِلَيْهِ ثَمَرَاتُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ رِزْقاً مِن لَّدُنَّا وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

28.57. «Si nous suivons avec toi la bonne direction, disent les idolâtres, nous serons expulsés de nos terres.» Mais ne les avons-Nous pas installés dans une enceinte sacrée et sûre, où sont acheminées, par un effet de Notre grâce, toutes sortes de produits pour leur subsistance? Seulement la plupart d'entre eux l'ignorent.

28.57 . And they say : If we were to follow the Guidance with thee we should be torn out of our land . Have We not established for them a sure sanctuary , whereunto the produce of all things is brought ( in trade ) , a provision from Our presence? But most of them know not .

28.57. Waqaloo in nattabiAAi alhuda maAAaka nutakhattaf min ardina awa lam numakkin lahum haraman aminan yujba ilayhi thamaratu kulli shay-in rizqan min ladunna walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona

28.58.وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ بَطِرَتْ مَعِيشَتَهَا فَتِلْكَ مَسَاكِنُهُمْ لَمْ تُسْكَن مِّن بَعْدِهِمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلاً وَكُنَّا نَحْنُ الْوَارِثِينَ

28.58. Combien de cités, dont les habitants vivaient dans l'opulence, n'avons-Nous pas anéanties pour leur ingratitude? Voyez leurs demeures, devenues presque désertes, après leur mort. Et c'est Nous qui en fûmes l'Héritier suprême.

28.58 . And how many a community have We destroyed that was thankless for its means of livelihood! And yonder are their dwellings , which have not been inhabited after them save a little . And We , even We , were the inheritors .

28.58. Wakam ahlakna min qaryatin batirat maAAeeshataha fatilka masakinuhum lam tuskan min baAAdihim illa qaleelan wakunna nahnu alwaritheena

28.59.وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ مُهْلِكَ الْقُرَى حَتَّى يَبْعَثَ فِي أُمِّهَا رَسُولاً يَتْلُو عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتِنَا وَمَا كُنَّا مُهْلِكِي الْقُرَى إِلَّا وَأَهْلُهَا ظَالِمُونَ

28.59. Ton Seigneur n'anéantit jamais les cités avant d'envoyer dans leur métropole un messager pour leur réciter Nos versets, car Nous n'avons à anéantir que les cités dont les habitants sont injustes.

28.59 . And never did thy Lord destroy the townships , till He had raised up in their mother ( town ) a messenger reciting unto them Our revelations . And never did We destroy the townships unless the folk thereof were evil doers .

28.59. Wama kana rabbuka muhlika alqura hatta yabAAatha fee ommiha rasoolan yatloo AAalayhim ayatina wama kunna muhlikee alqura illa waahluha thalimoona

28.60.وَمَا أُوتِيتُم مِّن شَيْءٍ فَمَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتُهَا وَمَا عِندَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَى أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

28.60. Tous les biens qui vous ont été impartis sur Terre ne sont que jouissance éphémère et vaine parure, alors que ce qui est auprès de Dieu est plus précieux et plus durable. Finirez-vous donc par le comprendre?

28.60 . And whatsoever ye have been given is a comfort of the life of the world and an ornament thereof ; and that which Allah hath is better and more lasting . Have ye then no sense?

28.60. Wama ooteetum min shay-in famataAAu alhayati alddunya wazeenatuha wama AAinda Allahi khayrun waabqa afala taAAqiloona
