29.36.وَإِلَى مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْباً فَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَارْجُوا الْيَوْمَ الْآخِرَ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ

29.36. Aux Madyanites Nous avons envoyé leur frère Shu`ayb. «Ô mon peuple, leur dit-il, adorez Dieu et attendez-vous au Jugement dernier ! Ne semez pas le désordre sur la Terre !»

29.36 . And unto Midian We sent Shueyb , their brother . He said O my people! Serve Allah , and look forward to the Last Day , and do not evil , making mischief , in the earth .

29.36. Wa-ila madyana akhahum shuAAayban faqala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha waorjoo alyawma al-akhira wala taAAthaw fee al-ardi mufsideena

29.37.فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ

29.37. Mais ils le traitèrent d'imposteur. Aussi furent-ils frappés par le séisme et, le matin suivant, le sol de leurs demeures était jonché de cadavres.

29.37 . But they denied him , and the dreadful earthquake took them , and morning found them prostrate in their dwelling place .

29.37. Fakaththaboohu faakhathat-humu alrrajfatu faasbahoo fee darihim jathimeena

29.38.وَعَاداً وَثَمُودَ وَقَد تَّبَيَّنَ لَكُم مِّن مَّسَاكِنِهِمْ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ وَكَانُوا مُسْتَبْصِرِينَ

29.38. Il en fut de même de `Âd et de Thamûd, comme vous pouvez le constater d'après ce qui reste de leurs demeures. Satan avait embelli leurs méfaits à leurs yeux, les détournant ainsi de la Voie salutaire. C'étaient pourtant des gens qui ne manquaient pas de clairvoyance.

29.38 . And ( the tribes of ) Aad and Thamud! ( Their fate ) is manifest unto you from their ( ruined and deserted ) dwellings . Satan made their deeds seem fair unto them and so debarred them from the Way , though they were keen observers .

29.38. WaAAadan wathamooda waqad tabayyana lakum min masakinihim wazayyana lahumu alshshaytanu aAAmalahum fasaddahum AAani alssabeeli wakanoo mustabsireena

29.39.وَقَارُونَ وَفِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامَانَ وَلَقَدْ جَاءهُم مُّوسَى بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانُوا سَابِقِينَ

29.39. Et c'est le même sort que devaient subir Coré, Pharaon et Hâmân, à qui pourtant Moïse avait apporté des preuves évidentes. Mais ils se montrèrent orgueilleux sur la Terre et ne purent échapper à Nos rigueurs.

29.39 . And Korah , Pharaoh and Haman! Moses came unto them with clear proofs ( of Allah ' s sovereignty ) , but they were boastful in the land . And they were not winners ( in the race ) .

29.39. Waqaroona wafirAAawna wahamana walaqad jaahum moosa bialbayyinati faistakbaroo fee al-ardi wama kanoo sabiqeena

29.40.فَكُلّاً أَخَذْنَا بِذَنبِهِ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ حَاصِباً وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَخَذَتْهُ الصَّيْحَةُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ خَسَفْنَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَغْرَقْنَا وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَكِن كَانُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ

29.40. Chacun d'eux a reçu de Nous le châtiment de son crime. Contre les uns Nous avons déchaîné un ouragan, pendant que d'autres ont été saisis par un grondement terrifiant, ou engloutis par la terre, ou noyés sous les eaux. Mais ce n'est pas Dieu qui fut injuste envers eux. Ce sont eux qui furent les propres artisans de leur malheur.

29.40 . So We took each one in his sin ; of them was he on whom We sent a hurricane , and of them was he who was overtaken by the ( Awful ) Cry , and of them was he whom We caused the earth to swallow , and of them was he whom We drowned . It was not for Allah to wrong them , but they wronged themselves .

29.40. Fakullan akhathna bithanbihi faminhum man arsalna AAalayhi hasiban waminhum man akhathat-hu alssayhatu waminhum man khasafna bihi al-arda waminhum man aghraqna wama kana Allahu liyathlimahum walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona
