34.41.قَالُوا سُبْحَانَكَ أَنتَ وَلِيُّنَا مِن دُونِهِم بَلْ كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ الْجِنَّ أَكْثَرُهُم بِهِم مُّؤْمِنُونَ

34.41. – «Gloire à Toi, répondront-ils, Tu es notre seul Maître. Ils adoraient plutôt les djinns en qui la plupart d'entre eux croyaient.»

34.41 . They will say : Be Thou glorified . Thou art our Protector from them! Nay , but they worshipped the jinn ; most of them were believers in them .

34.41. Qaloo subhanaka anta waliyyuna min doonihim bal kanoo yaAAbudoona aljinna aktharuhum bihim mu/minoona

34.42.فَالْيَوْمَ لَا يَمْلِكُ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ نَّفْعاً وَلَا ضَرّاً وَنَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا ذُوقُوا عَذَابَ النَّارِ الَّتِي كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ

34.42. Ce jour-là, vous serez incapables de vous faire du bien ou du mal les uns aux autres. Et Nous dirons alors à ceux qui auront été injustes : «Goûtez à présent au supplice de l'Enfer que vous traitiez d'imposture !»

34.42 . That day ye will possess no Use nor hurt one for another . And We shall say unto those who did wrong : Taste the doom of the Fire which ye used to deny .

34.42. Faalyawma la yamliku baAAdukum libaAAdin nafAAan wala darran wanaqoolu lillatheena thalamoo thooqoo AAathaba alnnari allatee kuntum biha tukaththiboona

34.43.وَإِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ قَالُوا مَا هَذَا إِلَّا رَجُلٌ يُرِيدُ أَن يَصُدَّكُمْ عَمَّا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ آبَاؤُكُمْ وَقَالُوا مَا هَذَا إِلَّا إِفْكٌ مُّفْتَرًى وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءهُمْ إِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ

34.43. Quand Nos versets édifiants leur sont récités, ils disent : «Celui-ci n'est qu'un homme qui cherche à vous détourner de ce qu'adoraient vos ancêtres !» Et ils ajoutent : «Ce Coran n'est qu'un mensonge fabriqué de toutes pièces !» Et face à la vérité qui leur est parvenue, les impies disent : «C'est de la sorcellerie manifeste !»

34.43 . And if Our revelations are recited unto them in plain terms , they say : This is naught else than a man who would turn you away from what your fathers used to worship ; and they say : This is naught else than an invented lie . Those who disbelieve say of the truth when it reacheth them : This is naught else than mere magic .

34.43. Wa-itha tutla AAalayhim ayatuna bayyinatin qaloo ma hatha illa rajulun yureedu an yasuddakum AAamma kana yaAAbudu abaokum waqaloo ma hatha illa ifkun muftaran waqala allatheena kafaroo lilhaqqi lamma jaahum in hatha illa sihrun mubeenun

34.44.وَمَا آتَيْنَاهُم مِّن كُتُبٍ يَدْرُسُونَهَا وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمْ قَبْلَكَ مِن نَّذِيرٍ

34.44. Pourtant, avant toi, Nous ne leur avions donné aucun livre à étudier ni aucun messager pour les avertir.

34.44 . And We have given them no Scriptures which they study , nor sent We unto them , before thee , any warner .

34.44. Wama ataynahum min kutubin yadrusoonaha wama arsalna ilayhim qablaka min natheerin

34.45.وَكَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَمَا بَلَغُوا مِعْشَارَ مَا آتَيْنَاهُمْ فَكَذَّبُوا رُسُلِي فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ

34.45. Leurs devanciers, que Nous avions dotés d'une puissance dix fois supérieure à la leur, ont eux aussi crié au mensonge et traité Mes messagers de menteurs. Et quelle ne fut point alors Ma riposte !

34.45 . Those before them denied , and these have not attained a tithe of that which We bestowed on them ( of old ) ; yet they denied My messengers . How intense then was My abhorrence ( of them ) !

34.45. Wakaththaba allatheena min qablihim wama balaghoo miAAshara ma ataynahum fakaththaboo rusulee fakayfa kana nakeeri
