The National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) announced Wednesday that works at the Midelt wind have been completed. The construction of the 210-MW wind farm cost an estimated amount of 2.2 billion dirhams and required a 24-month work period.

The Midelt Wind Farm is located approximately 8 km northeast of the town of Midelt and is spanned over an area of approximately 2,300 hectares, ONEE reported.

This Midelt wind farm -210 MW- is part of the Integrated 850-MW wind farm program which is made  up of several wind farms located between the southern and northern regions of the Kingdom, Boujdour (300 MW), Tiskrad (Tarfaya - 100 MW), Midelt (210 MW) and Jbel Lahdid (Essaouira -270 MW), the press release said.

The wind farms of the Program are developed within the framework of private electricity production (IPP) and public-private partnership (PPP), underlines ONEE.
