The government has decided to extend for two weeks the preventive measures adopted on January 13, 2021, to fight against the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), as of January 19 at 9 pm.

In a press release, the government said the decision, which was taken given the evolution of the epidemiological situation worldwide and the appearance of new variants of the virus in neighbouring countries, is part of efforts aiming at fighting against the spread of COVID-19 and mitigating its repercussions.

The decision was also taken following the recommendations of the Scientific and Technical Commission regarding the need to maintain the necessary measures and procedures to fight against Covid-19.
