The government decided, on Tuesday, to ban all celebrations on the occasion of Labor Day, marked on May 1, to avoid any violation of the state of health emergency.

This decision comes following calls to celebrate Labor Day on public road and in application of the preventive measures taken to protect the health of citizens, the Government said in a statement.

This decision also takes into consideration the evolution of the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom, including risks posed by gatherings in public spaces, it added.

Praising the spirit of responsibility and the strong involvement of the trade unions to face the negative impact of Covid-19, the Government urges all parties to continue the efforts made and to respect, as in the previous year, all the guidelines announced and measures decided, in order to maintain the positive results achieved in the fight against this pandemic, the statement said.
