Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh to visit Morocco, invited by PJD

Ismal Haniyeh, the leader of the political bureau of Hamas, was welcomed in Rabat by Saad-Eddine El Othmani for his first official visit in Morocco. According to the agency Anadolu, reporting from an anonymous source inside the Party for Justice and Development (PJD), the latter officially invited the Hamas' senior leader.

«Haniyeh’s visit in the Kingdom of Morocco will be several days long», added the source, noting that during the visit, Hamas’ leader will meet several Moroccan party leaders.

This is the first visit of a Palestinian official of this caliber after the announcement of normalization of relations between Morocco and Israel, the 10th of last December.
