The Polisario has resumed its threats. In the crosshairs of the Front, the organizers of the 10th edition of the «Morocco Desert Challenge» rally, which will be organized from December 27 to January 10, 2024, with some stages in Western Sahara including a passage through El Guerguerate. The Front «warns that the entire territory of the Sahrawi Republic, including its land, maritime and air space, remains an open war zone, due to the violation of the ceasefire by Morocco on November 13, 2020».
In a press release, the Front said it «reserves the right to use all legitimate means to respond firmly to any action aimed at undermining its sovereignty and national territorial integrity».
On November 30, the separatist movement made the same threats against the organizers of the fifteenth edition of the «Africa Eco-Race» scheduled from December 30 to January 14, 2024, with stages in cities in the Sahara and a passage through El Guerguerate towards Mauritania.
