Police officers in Meknes, working in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested a 25-year-old man on Monday on suspicion of forging official documents, academic diplomas and school certificates and offering them for sale through social media.

The arrest followed an investigation launched after cyber-monitoring units detected online advertisements promoting the sale of official documents, academic diplomas and school certificates, allegedly intended for use in illegal activities.

Investigators identified and arrested the suspect, and a search of his premises uncovered forged certificates and academic diplomas, a list containing the names of clients and the documents requested, as well as cash believed to be proceeds of the illegal activity.

The suspect has been placed in police custody pending a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office to determine the full circumstances of the case. Investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest any accomplices suspected of involvement in the scheme.
