French Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin expressed his gratitude to Morocco after Moroccan authorities arrested 16 people involved in serious crimes, including drug trafficking within organized networks, murder, fraud, and money laundering.
In a post on X, Darmanin said the arrests were the result of strengthened cooperation and intensified coordination between Morocco and France, noting that procedures had begun to request the extradition of the detainees who hold French nationality.
The French official added that formal notifications had been issued regarding dual nationals, who cannot be extradited, so that Moroccan authorities can prosecute and try them.
