Morocco : A blue whale washes up on beach in Dakhla

A blue whale was washed up onto a beach in Dakhla on Sunday, January 7. Photos and videos of the sea creature were uploaded to social media. The whale was found in the Oum Labrouir beach.

The blue whale, a marine mammal and a baleen whale, is the largest animal known ever to have existed.

Its maximum length could reach 29.9 meters and weigh up to 199 tonnes. The average lifespan of a blue whale ranges between 30 and 80 years.
