At the direction of King Mohammed VI, the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema will collaborate with Ivorian authorities, including the Supreme Council of Imams, Mosques and Islamic Affairs (COSIM) and the Foundation's Ivorian section, to officially inaugurate the Mohammed VI Mosque in Abidjan. The ceremony will take place during Friday prayers on April 5, 2024, corresponding to the 26th of Ramadan.

A representative of the Higher Council of Ulema of Morocco will deliver the Friday sermon, in the presence of Moroccan and Ivorian officials and religious figures.

The inauguration day will also feature a religious evening commemorating Laylat Al Qadr (The Night of Power), featuring the participation of Ulema, caliphs of Sufi brotherhoods, and religious guides from Côte d'Ivoire and Morocco. The Night of Power will be a spiritual and beneficial event for Ivorian and Moroccan faithful.

The Mohammed VI Mosque in Abidjan embodies King Mohammed VI's commitment to religious values. It will serve as a center for spreading wisdom, teaching the Quran, promoting prayer, and advocating for peace, tolerance, and dialogue – principles central to Islam.

True to its mission, the mosque will share Moroccan expertise in religious management, fostering the strong ties between the Ivorian and Moroccan people.
