Heavy rain and strong wind gusts expected Saturday in Morocco

Morocco's Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) has issued an orange alert warning of heavy rain and strong winds in several provinces on Saturday.

The DGM forecasts heavy showers (25-40 mm) with a chance of thunderstorms between midnight and 3:00 pm on Saturday in Boulemane, Fez, Sefrou, Moulay Yacoub, Guercif, Taounate, El Hajeb, Ifrane, Taza, Taourirt, and Meknes.

Strong wind gusts (70/85 km/h) are also forecast for Saturday from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm, along with local dust flurries in the provinces of Errachidia and Figuig, and the highlands of Guelmim, Tata, Sidi Ifni, and Tiznit.
