The Itzer Trail, a sporting event that blends solidarity and discovery amidst the breathtaking scenery of the Atlas Mountains, is back. Organized by the Youth Initiatives Association in Itzer (ASSIJI), this year's edition marks the association's fifth anniversary, reaffirming its commitment to the Itzer region and its inhabitants.

From Friday, May 17 to Sunday, May 19, 2024, running enthusiasts, hikers, and nature lovers will once again gather in the Midelt region to participate in this unique event. With four distances to choose from—100 km over three stages, 56 km over two stages, 21 km, and a 10 km discovery trail—Itzer Trail offers challenges suitable for all levels.

«Our main goal is to shed light on the Itzer region while involving the local community and investing in its social and educational development».

Fouad Ben Lafedhil, President and Co-Founder of ASSIJI Association

Having attracted over 700 participants over the past five years, Itzer Trail has demonstrably impacted the region's economic and social dynamics. This year, the organization aims to welcome 300 participants, focusing particularly on women and children, who will make up 20% of the total.

Beyond the sporting challenges, participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the heart of Amazigh culture, discover local handicrafts, and enjoy a rich artistic program.
