The Spanish National Court has opted to pursue charges against a Moroccan woman from the Sahara, alleging her involvement in promoting messages advocating armed Islamic jihad from her residence in Menorca, where she was apprehended.
According to the Diario de Mallorca, the woman is part of a family with multiple members linked to terrorist organizations, with one of her brothers reportedly killed during a «violent operation in Morocco». During investigations, she denied any ties to extremist Islam, asserting her innocence. However, the court stated that evidence contradicts her claims, highlighting her alleged active role in advocating for armed jihad.
The court noted that her radicalization was gradual. Before her arrest, she reportedly disseminated messages on various digital platforms endorsing extremist Islamic ideologies and expressed a willingness to engage in terrorist activities. Evidence presented included her interest in acquiring explosive vests and weapons, alongside calls for targeting Morocco.
A search of her home reportedly uncovered material linking her to individuals associated with jihadist terrorism and the production of weapons and explosives.
