Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel in Morocco stated that a ship loaded with military equipment from the U.S. Army and heading to the Zionist army's warehouses docked at the Tanger Med port.
The movement added in a statement that this is the fifth ship of its kind to dock at the port, noting that the MAERSK CHICAGO ship arrived at the port on Monday, December 2nd, from teh US, «and unloaded its cargo at pier number 2».
It added that currently, a «sixth ship, MAERSK KINLOSS, left Newark port in the United States on November 30th and will enter Tangier port early in the morning on December 8th».
According to the same source, the «NYSTED MAERSK ship will enter at 10:00 on the same day to transport what is likely to be shipments of vehicles and military equipment, as well as hazardous materials, to the Zionist army».
According to the «BDS» movement, the frequent docking of Maersk fleet ships at the Tanger Med port and the pattern of their movements align with the investigation by the Palestinian Youth Movement, which Spain relied on for its decision to prevent the shipping company's vessels from docking at its ports. This, the movement claims, «leaves no doubt that the Moroccan authorities have opened the door wide through Tangier port to meet the needs of the occupation army for equipment and military supplies used in the extermination of the Palestinian people».
It explained that the investigation estimated that one ship from the Maersk fleet, consisting of 17 ships, passes «once a week to supply the extermination machine, with 2,110 shipments counted for this purpose, totaling 23,500 tons of goods between September 2023 and September 2024».
The movement condemned the continued facilitation of military shipments to the Zionist occupation army and called on the relevant authorities to «stop receiving these extermination ships and prevent them from docking at our ports».
The movement also saluted «the port workers who refused to load the shipments», condemned «the abuse they suffered from Maersk and Tanger port», and called on port workers to stand in solidarity with their comrades by resisting these ships and refraining from unloading and loading them.
