The case of the four men accused of rape, kidnapping, assault, and battery, known as the «Bennis-Alj-Slaoui affair», has taken a new turn. Mohamed Amine Naguib, one of the plaintiffs in the case, withdrew his complaint on Thursday, December 5, according to Le360.

Naguib, who holds a position in committees within the CGEM (Moroccan Employers' Association), headed by the father of one of the accused, is also the partner of the 27-year-old French lawyer who filed rape complaints in both Paris and Casablanca. Despite Naguib’s withdrawal, the criminal proceedings against some of the suspects remain ongoing.

The incident dates back to a party hosted on November 2 by Kamil Bennis, a member of a wealthy family in the pharmaceutical sector. Three others are implicated: M'hammed Alj, the son of the president of CGEM; Saâd Slaoui, a London-based entrepreneur; and Ahmed Daghbour, a security guard and local councillor. The complainant alleges that Kamil Bennis raped her after she unknowingly consumed GHB, commonly referred to as the «date rape drug».

The suspects, who have been detained in Aïn Sebaa prison since November 23, were presented before an examining magistrate following 72 hours in police custody in Casablanca. The investigation is ongoing to uncover the full details of this case, which has drawn significant attention due to the involvement of high-profile individuals.
