Heavy thundershowers, snowfall expected in Morocco from Sunday to Monday

Heavy thundershowers and snowfall above 1,700 meters are forecast in several provinces of Morocco from Sunday to Monday, according to the Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM).

Thundershowers, expected to range from 40 to 60 mm (1.5-2.3 inches), will affect the provinces of Tangier-Assilah, Larache, Mdiq-Fnideq, Tetouan, Ouezzane, Fahs-Anjra, Chefchaouen, Taounate, Sidi Kacem, and Kenitra, from 6 PM on Sunday to 4 PM on Monday, as per the DGM's orange-level weather alert.

At elevations above 1,700 meters, snowfall of 15 to 30 cm (6-11 inches) is anticipated on Monday in the provinces of Chefchaouen, Azilal, Ifrane, Midelt, Boulemane, Sefrou, and Al Hoceima, the DGM added.
