Two days after launching a direct flight route between Rabat and Oujda, «Air Arabia Maroc», a leader in low-cost air travel, continues its expansion in the Oriental region of the Kingdom by inaugurating a new flight route today, Sunday, January 12, linking the capital Rabat with the city of Nador.
The inauguration ceremony at Nador Al Aroui International Airport was marked by a festive atmosphere, featuring folkloric performances that celebrated the region's heritage. The event was attended by Khatib Lahbil, Governor of the Oriental Region, Mohamed Bouarourou, President of the Oriental Region Council, and Laila Mechbal, General Manager of «Air Arabia Maroc». The inaugural flight received a special welcome at Rabat International Airport, where the aircraft was greeted with the traditional water salute.
In an exclusive statement to «Yabiladi», Laila Mechbal expressed her delight with the launch of this new route, highlighting its significance in the development of the Oriental Region. She noted, «Two flights will be operated weekly during the winter season, with the frequency increasing to three flights weekly starting in April, using Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of 174 seats.» Ticket prices for the first 80 seats start from 350 dirhams, with prices adjusting later according to supply and demand.
Mohamed Bouarourou shared his optimism about the new air route, viewing it as the implementation of an agreement between the Oriental Region Council and «Air Arabia», which aims to boost economic and tourism mobility in the Nador and Driouch provinces.
The new route will be operated twice weekly, on Sunday (departing Nador at 16:15 and arriving in Rabat at 17:20, then departing Rabat at 11:00 and arriving in Nador at 12:00) and Wednesday (departing Nador at 18:35 and arriving in Rabat at 19:40, then departing Rabat at 20:30 and arriving in Nador at 21:30).
To celebrate the opening of this route, «Air Arabia» is offering a special promotional price starting from 350 dirhams, available through the company's website, mobile app, or partner travel agencies.
The airline hopes that this new air link will enhance regional connectivity, bridging Rabat, with its rich heritage and cultural character, and Nador, a Mediterranean city known for its beautiful beaches and strategic location, thereby opening new horizons for travel and development between the two cities.
