French citizen wanted for attempted murder arrested in Marrakech

Acting on precise intelligence from the General Directorate of National Surveillance, officers from the Marrakech Security Prefecture apprehended a 43-year-old French citizen on Monday morning, February 3. The individual is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities for a criminal case involving attempted murder.

The arrest took place during a security operation in Marrakech. A search of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) database revealed that the suspect was the subject of an INTERPOL Red Notice. This notice was disseminated based on an international arrest warrant from the French judicial system.

Preliminary reports indicate that the French national is wanted by the French judiciary to serve a sentence for a conviction in an attempted murder case.

The suspect has been taken into custody pending extradition proceedings. Concurrently, French security authorities have been notified of the arrest to facilitate the submission of the extradition dossier.
