In a concerted effort to protect consumers and combat speculation, the regional mixed commissions have intensified their market inspections. The objective: to eliminate fraudulent practices, monitor price trends, and ensure compliance with existing regulations.

Between March 2 and March 26, 2025, a total of 4,988 inspections were carried out nationwide, resulting in the closure of 531 illegal establishments—production, storage, or sales units operating outside the regulatory framework.

These inspections also led to the seizure of 239 tons of non-compliant products, 65% of which were either expired or hazardous for consumption. Additionally, 327 offenders were prosecuted.

The Ministry of the Interior assures that these operations will continue with the same determination, further intensifying inspections and ensuring the strict enforcement of laws on pricing, competition, and consumer protection.
