The Sultanate of Oman reaffirmed its unwavering support for «the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco over its entire national territory» on Sunday, April 13. The statement was issued in a joint communiqué published in Muscat following the 7th session of the Moroccan-Omani Joint Commission, co-chaired by Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and his Omani counterpart, Badr Bin Hamad Bin Hamoud Al Busaidi.

Oman also described Morocco’s autonomy plan for Western Sahara—submitted to the United Nations on April 11, 2007—as «serious and realistic». The Sultanate praised «the wisdom of the Moroccan leadership, which favors a peaceful solution, thereby contributing to the security and stability of the Maghreb region».

Muscat further paid tribute to «the pioneering role of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in strengthening the foundations of peace, security, and stability across the African continent».

The 7th session concluded with the signing of several memorandums of understanding, including one focused on renewable energy cooperation.
