Transuniverse Forwarding has significantly expanded its Moroccan operations, deploying six custom-designed trailers for regular freight services between Belgium and North Africa. The Wondelgem-based logistics company has achieved remarkable growth in its Moroccan routes since establishing local operations.
According to Transuniverse, the company's Morocco traffic has doubled since launching Transuniverse Maroc in March 2024. Sales Manager Theo Timmerman reports that multiple Moroccan textile producers have signed on as clients, attracted by the flexible transport solutions offered by the new fleet.
The custom megatrailers, manufactured by the German company Krone and leased through TIP Trailers Antwerp, feature adaptable configurations allowing double-stacked pallet transport outbound and hanging textile transport on return journeys. This flexibility addresses Morocco's structural trade imbalance, where 90% of traffic consists of Belgian exports.
Transuniverse operates through a strategic partnership with Transit Jalal in Casablanca, where both companies share facilities. Operations Director Kevin Van Ongeval explains that this collaboration creates a complete one-stop-shop solution for Moroccan logistics. The partnership includes a bonded warehouse in Casablanca's port area, where goods are unloaded, cleared through customs, and distributed throughout Morocco.
The company now employs ten staff in Morocco and operates eight weekly groupage shipments from Belgium, primarily transporting automotive parts, window profiles, industrial plastics, and raw materials.
