A medical team from the Mohammed VI University Hospital Center (CHU Agadir), from the urology department, has achieved a major medical milestone by performing the first urethral reconstruction surgery using microsurgical techniques in Morocco. The procedure was carried out on a septuagenarian patient under the supervision of Imad Ziouziou.
According to a press release issued by the CHU on Thursday, this high-precision operation marks a national first in the field of urology. It relied on advanced microsurgical techniques, using a high-precision surgical microscope, enabling urethral reconstruction under optimal safety conditions and in line with the highest medical standards. The breakthrough opens new therapeutic prospects for the treatment of complex urological cases.
The success of the procedure required the mobilization of a multidisciplinary medical and paramedical team, as well as the use of state-of-the-art equipment, highlighting the level of preparation and expertise achieved by the center in specialized surgical care.
