A new amendment to the partnership agreement between Morocco’s Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports and Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arab was signed on Monday in Rabat, reinforcing cooperation to promote digital education and innovation.

Signed by Ilham Laaziz, Director of Educational and Digital Resources at the ministry, and Hong Seok Lee, President of Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arab, the amendment aligns with the 2022–2026 education roadmap aimed at strengthening the integration of digital technologies into the education system and encouraging innovation.

The signing ceremony coincided with the award presentation for the second edition of the national Python programming competition, organized by the ministry in partnership with Samsung. Twelve teams representing regions across Morocco took part, with Drâa-Tafilalet winning first prize, followed by Rabat-Salé-Kénitra in second place and Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra in third.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports Mohamed Saad Berrada said the initiative falls within the «Samsung Innovation Campus» project, which focuses on enhancing teachers’ skills in programming and artificial intelligence (AI). He noted that more than 261 teachers were trained and certified in these fields in 2025 alone.

The minister, in a speech read on his behalf, stressed that the partnership is a pioneering initiative in supporting digital teaching and learning. He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to nurturing students with strong programming skills and to continuing the Samsung Innovation Campus through the newly signed amendment, which will expand certified AI training for teachers.

For his part, Hong Seok Lee highlighted that Samsung Innovation Campus is the cornerstone of the strategic partnership with the ministry, enabling thousands of students nationwide to access modern technologies and develop digital skills. He added that Samsung plans to further strengthen its commitment in 2026 by expanding AI training programs, driven by its belief in AI’s transformative potential.

Launched in 2019, Samsung Innovation Campus has trained and certified more than 2,000 computer science teachers in Python programming, including 780 trained directly by Samsung and 1,273 through regional training centers.
