On Friday, March 6, Morocco's Foreign Affairs Minister, Nasser Bourita, engaged in a phone call with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov. According to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, the discussion unfolded «in a constructive and trusting atmosphere, focusing on priorities for advancing the traditionally friendly Russo-Moroccan relations, as well as current regional issues in the context of strengthening bilateral coordination of foreign policies».
The ministry under Nasser Bourita emphasized that both ministers «expressed satisfaction with the quality of friendship and cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Russian Federation, reaffirming their shared commitment to continue strengthening and deepening this partnership».
«This exchange takes place as the two nations celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Deep Strategic Partnership, established in March 2016 in Moscow during the historic visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him», the statement noted.
The two officials also shared perspectives on various current regional and international issues, underscoring the importance of ongoing consultation and enhanced coordination to foster international peace and stability.
