Tragic drowning of 13-year-old boy in Taounate prompts investigation

After an exhaustive search, civil protection teams successfully recovered the body of a 13-year-old boy on Sunday morning. The young victim was swept away by the waters of Oued el-Leban in the Basabsa community, Taounate province, on Saturday as he attempted to cross the river.

The boy's body has been transferred to the morgue at Al-Ghassani Regional Hospital in Fez, where an autopsy will be conducted to ascertain the precise cause of death.

In the meantime, authorities have commenced an investigation, overseen by the public prosecutor, to shed light on the circumstances of this tragic incident.
