European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Vice President for Policy and Partnerships Mark Bowman will visit Morocco from June 24 to 26 for talks aimed at expanding investment in the kingdom and strengthening cooperation with public and private-sector partners.
During the visit, Bowman is scheduled to meet Water and Equipment Minister Nizar Baraka and Industry and Trade Minister Ryad Mezzour, EBRD announced on Tuesday. Discussions will focus on boosting investment, enhancing private sector-led competitiveness and inclusive growth, accelerating the green transition, and supporting reforms designed to attract more private capital.
The EBRD vice president will also hold talks with public- and private-sector clients, including local banks, to discuss ongoing and future projects, expand access to finance and support private-sector development.
Ahead of the visit, Bowman said the bank would continue supporting Morocco's economic priorities, including sustainable growth, a stronger private sector, and the transition to a greener economy.
Bowman will be accompanied by Haytham Eissa, the EBRD's head of operations in Morocco.
Morocco has been an EBRD country of operation since 2012. Since then, the bank has invested more than €6.2 billion in 129 projects across the kingdom, with 68% of financing directed to the private sector, according to the EBRD.
