FBI Deputy Director Christopher Wray visited the International Police Cooperation Center (IPCC) on Wednesday, the security coordination hub bringing together law enforcement representatives from countries participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
During the visit, Wray held a meeting with representatives of Morocco's General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) and General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), thanking the kingdom for its significant contribution to securing the tournament. He described Morocco as a trusted strategic partner with internationally recognized expertise and credibility.
Addressing representatives of foreign security agencies, Wray also praised their role in the tournament's security architecture, stressing the importance of international cooperation and intelligence sharing.
He noted that securing 78 World Cup matches over a period of nearly two weeks represents a major organizational and security challenge, adding that such an operation would be impossible without close international cooperation. Wray also pointed to the growing number of threats successfully thwarted by U.S. authorities in recent months.
