Young Moroccan player Rayan Touzghar has joined Standard Liège from Pau FC, who play in France’s Ligue 2, the Belgian Pro League club announced on Friday.

The 22-year-old midfielder has signed a contract with the Rouches for the next three seasons, with an option for an additional year, Standard said in a statement.

Born in Avignon, France, Rayan completed his development at Nîmes and then Toulouse before turning professional in 2024 with EA Guingamp. He moved to Pau FC in August 2025, where he made 35 appearances, scored three goals, and provided three assists. The young player was called up to Morocco’s U20 national team in 2022.

“Rayan is a box-to-box midfielder with a high work rate and a lot of forward runs. He also has a good left foot and strong technical ability,” said Rouches sporting director Marc Wilmots, quoted in the statement. The player is also “coming off a full season with Pau FC and will give our technical staff even more options in midfield.”

For his part, Rayan Touzghar said he was happy to continue his development “at a renowned club like Standard Liège.” “I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and discover the city, the stadium, and the supporters,” he said.
