Lawyers and rights activist groups announced on Tuesday that the Moroccan authorities have arrested more protesters in the biggest protest movement that the country is witnessing since the Arab spring, Reuters reports.

The same source indicates that 100 individuals belonging to the «Hirak» movement were arrested since the end of May, as Abdessadak Elbouchattaoui, one of the movement's lawyers declared.

«There are arrests on a daily basis, on average, there were about four arrests a day, sometimes reaching 10 a day», Elbouchattaoui told the same source.

Yesterday night , activists of the independent Moroccan Human Rights Association took the streets of Rabat to protest in solidarity with the «Hirak», however, the march was violently «dispersed with truncheons by authorities».

Calls have been circulating these days to organize a «historic march» in Al Hoceima on the Eid to call for the release of Hirak protesters.
