A British company to construct a wastewater facility in Laayoune

Biwater, a large-scale water and water waste company headquartered in Surry, England kicked off the establishment of a wastewater treatment plant in the city of Laayoune, Water and Water International website reports.

The goal of this project is to ensure the treatment of 40 percent of the population's waterwaste. According to the same source «the new facility will provide pre-treatment, biological treatment and advanced tertiary treatment, including closed low pressure ultraviolet (UV). Meanwhile, biogas production will also allow for combined heat and power cogeneration for the facility».

The British company declared that the southeastern region of the country will have access to treated water taking advantage of wastewater. After the implementation of the Biwater plant, Biwater will give a two-year assistance and training program to locals.

Speaking to the same media platform, Yassine Laib, Biwater’s manager in Morocco stated that «this project award emphasizes the importance of wastewater treatment and reuse in areas where there are acute water shortage».
