Mossos d’Esquadra, the police force of Catalonia, Spain says that an 18-year-old boy named Moussa Oukabir is the first suspect in the terrorist attack that took place in Barcelona, as reported by El Pais. He is the youngest brother of one of the suspects detained on Thursday following the Ramblas’ incident. After hitting dozens of people with a van, the young man got out of the vehicle and fled. The police are looking for him as he is still on the run.

According to the same source, the police confirm that they are looking for Moussa Oukabir without indicating his role in the attack.

Moussa lives in Ripoll (Girona) just like his brother, Driss. The latter was the first one to be arrested by the police following the Barcelona attack. Identity documents of Driss Oukabir were found in the van in las Ramblas in Barcelona. Driss, who is believed to be a Moroccan national, went to the police claiming that his papers were stolen.

The latest updates suggest that 13 people were killed in the Ramblas attack and dozens were injured on Thursday while 7 others including a police officer were wounded when a car hit them in Cambrils this morning. 5 suspects were shot by the police on Friday amid the attack.
