The Moroccan-Nigerian Parliamentary Friendship Group, which was set up by the Nigerian Senate and the House of Councilors of Morocco, held its inaugural meeting on Wednesday (October 4th) in Abuja, the group said in a statement.
The meeting was held under the joint chairmanship of the Deputy Speaker of the Senate and chairman of the group on the Nigerian side, and Abdelilah Hifdi, chairman of the group on the Moroccan side, and was attended by Nigeria's Senate Speaker Bubakar Bukola Saraki, Nigeria's Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara, King Mohammed VI's Ambassador to Nigeria, Moha Ouali Tagma, Senators and Council Advisors.
The chairman of the group recalled the important agreements signed during the visit of the sovereign to Nigeria and highlighted the agreement on the pipeline and fertilizers, which will contribute to the economic development of both countries and the whole region.
The friendship group is made up of some 30 senior senators and deputies from the different states of Nigeria. The next joint meeting of the friendship group will be organized on November in Morocco.
