It's official now. The Algerian Interior Minister and his Mauritanian counterpart signed on Wednesday, November 8th, in Nouakchott an agreement to create of a crossing point between Zouirate and Tindouf, reports the Algerian news agency.

This project, if implemented, will help boost trade between the two countries, especially if the 800km long road connecting Zouirate to Tindour, would be paved.

«The border crossing will have no impact on the smuggling activity carried out between Tindouf and Mauritania. Deploying officers wouldn’t stop smugglers», said a source from Dakhla to Yabiladi.
