Morocco has been named the best golf destination in Africa in 2017, a prestigious distinction awarded by the «World Golf Awards».
«Africa’s Best Golf Destination 2017», a coveted award, was handed over to the kingdom by golf and tourism professionals from around the world at a ceremony held in Spain.
The awarded countries included Egypt, Kenya and South Africa. In 2015, Morocco was named by the same organization the second best golf destination. The World Golf Award issues every year its ranking of the best golf and tourism destinations in the world.
Morocco was awarded thanks to a campaign launched by the Moroccan national Office of Tourism (ONMT) in the United Kingdom and Europe to position the country international as a destination for golf tourism.
Morocco currently has more than 40 golf courses. Each city in the Kingdom has two or more courses, while others are under construction or about to open.
