SDX Energy, a British oil company operating in both Egypt and Morocco, announced on Tuesday, 23rd of January, that it has made a new discovery onshore Morocco, most precisely in the ONZ-7 well at the Sebou project, reports Proactive Investors

ONZ-7 well, which is expected to be complete, tested and connected to other infrastructure to start producing, was drilled down to 1,167 meters and contained up to 5 meters of net conventional gas pay. According to the same source, the well is «on prognosis» which will boost the company’s reservoir quality pushing its prosperity measuring to 35.3%.

«We are very excited to be able to announce another discovery, the fourth from five wells drilled to date in our nine well Moroccan campaign,» said Paul Welch, SDX chief executive.

«For this well we used our own high resolution 3D seismic data, as we have for the other successful wells and as we will for the remainder of the campaign.»

For the record, the Sebou permit, located in the Rharb basin, was acquired by SDX Energy in January 2017. 2D and 3D seismic surveys were carried out on the majority of the region of Sebou and sixteen wells have been drilled to date, thirteen of them were successful of 81%.
