An Italian fugitive who was sentenced to 11 years in prison for international drug trafficking was arrested in Morocco, reports Corriere Del Serra.

The man was found in Temara, a town near Rabat, after spending 22 years on the run. He was the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the Milan prosecutor’s office, says the same source.

The Italian police, collaborating with the Interpol, arrested the 73-year-old national. The Moroccan Gendarmerie helped investigators locate the man wanted since 1996.

It took months to analyze the arrestee’s movements, business and relations. The police followed the people who knew him for the last ten years.
