Head of government, Saâd Eddine El Othmani, and minister of International Relations and la Francophonie of Quebec, Christine St-Pierre, held, Friday in Rabat, talks on means to promote bilateral relations.

A statement by the head of government's office said the two sides praised the excellent relations of friendship and fruitful cooperation between the two countries, highlighting prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation, given the common human and cultural ties consolidated thanks to the Moroccan diaspora in Quebec.

They shed light on aspects of economic complementarity and multiple partnership opportunities, particularly in the areas of transport, communication techniques and clean technologies, the statement noted.

The two officials also expressed their satisfaction with the upcoming opening of the Quebec representation office in Rabat, which is likely to contribute to the development of Moroccan-Quebec cooperation in various fields.

In this regard, El Othmani recalled the important efforts made by Morocco to improve the business climate, support domestic and foreign enterprise and boost the industrial sector in order to increase its contribution to GDP.

Furthermore, he mentioned the Kingdom's ratification of a number of free trade agreements representing a market of more than one billion inhabitants, which makes Morocco one of the best investment destinations in the African continent and the Mediterranean region.
