From October the 29th to November the 10th, Algiers is hosting the 23rd edition of its annual International Book Fair (SILA). Once again, the local authorities have removed books edited in Morocco, stating that they contain maps showing the Sahara as a Moroccan territory.

«Dictionaries have been removed because they contain forbidden maps», a senior Algerian official told Annahar TV.

It is not the first time that Algeria seize Moroccan books because of the same purpose. The measure is applied every year Moroccan publishers participate to Algeria’s International Book Fair.
