As part of efforts to deal with terrorist threats linked to the so-called «Islamic State» organization, the Central Bureau of Judiciary Investigations (BCIJ) dismantled, on Thursday, a terrorist cell in the cities of Sidi Bennour, El Jadida, Mohammedia and Marrakech, says the interior ministry.

This cell is composed of 6 individuals aged between 27 and 40 years, including an ex-prisoner under the anti-terrorist law, who had links with active elements in the Daesh branch in Libya, the ministry notes in a statement.

Thorough security surveillance revealed the adherence of the suspects, who pledged allegiance to «Daesh», to the destructive agenda of this terrorist organization, through the planning of terror operations in the Kingdom, the same source adds.

They were remanded in custody as part of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor, the statement points out.
