Morocco wins Abu Dhabi Arab Muay Thai championship

Morocco won the Arab Muay Thai Championship 2019, which wrapped up Sunday in Abu Dhabi. Morocco came first with four golds, three silver and one bronze medals, followed by the United Arab Emirates with four gold medals, while Egypt ranked third with one gold medal, one silver and a bronze medal.

Morocco's gold medals were won by Belharcha Omaima (-54 kg), Anas Lhibaoui (-60 kg), Hamza Rachid (-63.3 kg) and Soufiane Merzak (-75 kg).

Ayoub Khaya (-57 kg), Zahdi Abdelali (-67 kg) and Abouloufae Ahmed (-67 kg) won the silver medals, while the bronze medal went to Kaoutar Modane (-60 kg).

During this event, Morocco was selected as the best team, while Moroccan Belharcha Omaima was chosen as the best athlete.

Morocco's Lahcen Ouassou was selected as the best coach.

President of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Kick-Boxing, Muay Thai, Savate and Related Sports, Abdelkrim El Hilali, told MAP that Moroccan athletes have made a good performance in this championship marked by the participation of 120 competitors from 16 Arab countries.
