539 new confirmed coronavirus cases were recorded during the past 24 hours in Morocco, the health ministry announced on Friday, June 19. The new cases bring the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 9,613.
Most of these new cases were recorded in industrial units in Lalla Mimouna, a commune near Kenitra.
457 of the total cases were recorded today in the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, in industrial units, 13 in the Casablanca-Settat region, 29 in Marrakech-Safi, 27 in Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, and 13 cases in the region of Fez-Meknes.
During the same period, 76 recoveries were recorded, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 8,117.The death toll stands at 213, with no deaths recorded in the past 24 hours and a fatality rate of 2.2 percent.
The number of active cases is 1283. 10 of them are in a difficult and critical condition, 4 in Casablanca, one in Marrakech, and 5 in Tangier.
