The Polisario has threatened to conclude military agreements with African countries against Morocco. The Front no longer hides its ambition to involve African countries in a war against the Kingdom.
The creation of the Sahrawi Movement for Peace (MSP) has brought new life into the Sahara. In a letter, Mustapha Salma urged the mayor of Laayoune to lead an initiative to unify Sahrawis. Some see it as the beginning of a relaunch of the Sahrawi National Union party, founded in 1974 by Khelihenna Ould Errachid.
During the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune said he regretted the obstacles preventing the settlement of the Western Sahara conflict. The other allies of the Polisario, including South Africa, Namibia and Botswana, have also raised the question of the Sahara.
